But this time they opted out of using Brave Brothers as their title track producer for the first time in years. A lot of people are happy about this change, but to be honest..I really like some of the songs he produces (don't kill me, please).
I was a bit iffy upon hearing that this was going to be a ballad, the only ballads I actually enjoy are by T-ara, or the odd song by one of the Sistar members. So what do I actually think of the song after finally listening to it? It's not too bad, the slower parts sound like a generic ballad and it delivered what it promised. One thing that stood out was the decision to include Hyuna and Sohyun rapping in it, I was really curious as to how they were going to include those two, as they aren't vocally up to par with the other three members. Sohyun's rap break heavily reminded me of a Hwayoung rap break in some of T-ara's older songs ("We were in love" to be specific).
I have a feeling that this wont be their definitive title track that they promote with, rather just an introduction to what 4 Minute has in store for 2015. I expect that perhaps they will release another song within the next few months with a dance routine and an upbeat style, which is something to heavily anticipate from them.
Overall, I'm not blown out of the water, but it was a nice change of pace and it showed a different style to 4 Minute that we haven't really seen since the days of Volume Up.
| I kind of dig Jiyoon's styling in this MV tbh |
