All of that aside, I think all of this worked in Hello Venus's favor, as a LOT of people are still talking about this song, even the oddly rushed/low budget MV release didn't seem to poison peoples interest in this release.
I had high expectations ever since the teaser was released, I really enjoyed the backing track and the overall feel it had. Apart from the obvious grating vocal complaint (I since downloaded the "better version" so it's not really a problem if I can avoid it), there were bits I liked and bits that were a bit meh:
- Backing track is awesome, I'm a huge fan of the bass heavy intro
- Lime's rap is destroying my bias list
- The singing portion of the verses were a bit meh, they didn't totally fit the style, but they aren't horrible
- The MV felt incredibly rushed, but some have pointed out that the grittiness of the MV meshes well with the concept
Anyway, it was an interesting start to the year of k-pop and it's good that they went for a relatively daring concept (and I do love watching fangirls get angry over essentially nothing).
