What do I hope to see from k-pop this year?

The year has pretty much just started and already we are seeing a lot of scandals, breakups and the like, but what did we expect, really? Ultimately, I'm more interested in the hopes of having some damn good songs being released this year. And if 2014 is an example of what the k-pop world is churning out, I'm extremely excited for what is yet to come!

The opinions of randoms on the internet do not reflect my own, oki?

First up, I'll share some predictions/expectations other people have had for 2015. Here are some of the things people have shared:

- Someone in SNSD to go solo/possibility of a SHY subunit (Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, Yuri)

- Mamamoo will breakout of nugudom and possibly win a music show award

- Sulli will come back and f(x) will release another great summer mini album

- People are either 100% for or 100% the success of CL's American debut, not many fence sitters in this situation

- Orange Caramel will be the main breadwinner for Pledis (not that they aren't right now anyway?)

- 2Yoon comeback

- 2NE1 will disband after CL flops in the USA

- Brown Eyed Girls comeback

- After School will comeback with 2 new members

- Red Velvet will release a single before they will release their first album

- Tao will leave Exo and Exo will form an exclusively Korean group (or just disband all together, hopefully)

Whaddaya think?

Well, that's just some of the things other people had to say, now what do I hope for? I'll just stick to what I know the most, instead of trying to make predictions for groups I don't really care/know about.

- We all know T-ara is going to focus on Chinese activities in 2015, and with Qri staying as the leader, is this an opportunity for her to get more spotlight in the group? She already got a leg-up during Little Apple, which was completely unexpected, considering she is usually shelved to the background with Boram. Honestly, I hope that Korean netizens give them a break this year, but considering the fact that they still make rice cake, webcam jokes, I don't see them maturing as a possibility. 

- The whole f(x) situation could go two ways, there's no clear way of telling what exactly will happen, but I've narrowed it down to two possibilities. 

a) They will SUDDENLY comeback with Sulli and everyone will be shocked/confused
b) They will SUDDENLY comeback withOUT Sulli, SM will avoid making explanations for a while, until releasing a vague statement that she won't be returning to the group.

I think option b could harm f(x)'s reputation, but to be quite honest, the whole situation with Sulli will be extremely difficult to work around and I feel like no matter what route they take, people will find a reason to be angry and bitter towards f(x)/SM.

- AOA will probably slow down a bit for the first section of the year, in 2014 they did release a shit tonne of (great) music and if they follow by the same intensity, they might burn out a bit. One of the members may get a drama offer later in the year too.

Other than that, my head is pretty hazy as to what might happen this year, all I know is that I hope girl groups keep dominating the k-pop world and my faves keep being great.
